According to legends and archeological artifacts, the Lapung-nese ethnic group- with its various theories on its origin-was initially concentrated in Sekala Brak which is located on the hill of Pesagi Mountain, Belalau, on the south of Lake Ranau, West Lampung. In Sekala Brak spreads of Megalithic artifacts stones, beads, potteries, punden terraces, trenched forts, and menhiurs in a quite large quantity.
