In the aftermath of the torrorist attacks perpetrated by a group of young Middle Eastern militant Muslims on the Twin Towers in New York on September 11, 2001, the war on terror has become the major foreign policy of the United States. The Bush administration accused Southeast Asia, a region where Muslims from the majority of the population, of being fertile ground for the growth of terrorist or radical Muslim groups.
